Anybody drink any good beer lately?

Point. I forgot to add that for a bottled D-dorf Altbier, Frankehneim has been quite satisfying here lately. It has a bit more of a malt...something than the draught stuff seems to; it appears to travel the world much better by bottle than by CO2 keg (but not nearly so much better than the Uerige does--those noxious, metallic, lifeless, nasty kegs that made their way west were SHITE at best). And for what... $1.50 or so a bottle vs. $4.75?(?)

Yes, of course Frankenheim ain't nothin' on Uerige. But the bottled U is such a let-down for the price, whereas the F ain't.

The new Gustav's joint just off 217 at Greenburg Rd. has F on tap, next time you're up that way. Reasonably priced, too.

I've not been all that impressed with Frankenheim in the past. A different MOC here in town carries Diebel's which I prefer and is only $1.79/bottle. The ZU _is_ awfully expensive, but man, do I love that hop blast!

Guess I should have read this part before I wrote the above!

Is that PDX?

Just going by the subject...

At the Great Taste, the beers that really stood out were:

Great Dane (Madison WI) Barley Port (FG) Delafield Brewing ? (forgot name) Barleywine (FG) Delafield Brewing ? (ditto) Imperial Stout (FG)

Honorable mention:

Bandana Brewing (Mankato MN) Weizenbock (AFG)

Of course, you can't come anywhere near trying all the beers, so YMMV.

It's not a great Alt, no. I like it as a softer, dunkles ale sort of treat. [...]

Tigard!
