Beer Lovers - Read This

You are all alcoholics. I laugh when you snobbishly put down Budweiser in favor of more esoteric brands. You are all a bunch of out-of-control juicers and should go to A.A. today. LOSERS!

You lush! Admitting you have a problem with alcohol is the first step to recovery. But it's clear you are in denial about your problem - LOSER!

EXCuse me, I though one of the signs you were an alcoholic were that you need to drink to function normally, not that you drink because you want to within reason.

Do you ever drink heavily when you are disappointed, under pressure or have had a quarrel with someone? Can you handle more alcohol now than when you first started to drink? Have you ever been unable to remember part of the previous evening, even though your friends said that you did not pass out? When drinking with other people, do you try to have a few extra drinks when others won't know about? Do you sometimes feel uncomfortable if alcohol is not available? Do you sometimes feel a little guilty about your drinking? Are you in more of a hurry to get your first drink of the day than you used to be? Has a family member or close friend ever expressed concern or complained about your drinking? Have you been having more memory 'blackouts' recently? Do you often want to continue drinking after your friends say they've had enough? Do you usually have a reason for the occasions when you drink heavily? When you're sober, do you sometimes regret things you did or said while drinking? Have you tried switching brands or drinks, or following different plans to control your drinking? Have you sometimes failed to keep promises you.made to yourself about controlling or cutting down on your drinking? Have you ever had a DWI (driving while intoxicated) or DUI (driving under the influence of alcohol) violation, or any other legal problem related to your drinking? Do you try to avoid family or close friends while you are drinking? Are you having more financial, work, school and/or family problems as a result of your drinking? Has your physician ever advised you to cut down on your drinking? Do you eat very little or irregularly during the periods when you are drinking? Do you sometimes have the "shakes" in the morning and find that it helps to have a "little" drink, tranquilizer medication of some kind? Have you recently noticed that you can't drink as much as you used to? Do you sometimes stay drunk for several days at a time? After periods of drinking do you sometimes see or hear things that aren't there? Have you ever gone to anyone for, help about your drinking? Do you ever feel depressed or anxious before, during or after of heavy drinking? Any "yes" answer indicates that you may be a greater risk for alcoholism. More than one "yes" answer may indicate the presence of an alcohol-related problem or alcoholism, and the need for consultation with a alcoholism professional.

You're all a bunch of drunks who think that buying more expensive beer means you aren't a lush. Wake up and smell the coffee!

Yup, and the bartender was able to help me quite a bit.

And you know us all so well that you're able to make that clinical evaluation. Well, aren't you the bright one!

Hmmm...Smells like Sumatra. This is gonna be another good day for drinking beer!

Go sit under a bridge and wait for a goat.

So what you're saying is that unless I can handle *exactly* the same amount of alcohol as when I had my first drink, I'm at elevated risk for alcoholism? Thanks, Dr. Nick!

Using your criteria I would also be a "cheeseaholic" a "pizzaaholic" and a "redmeataholic." That brush is so wide you could paint a plane hanger with it.

No.

Yes, but I can also eat more apple sauce than when I first started to eat apple sauce.

I've had this happen even when I don't drink.

No.

No.

No.

No.

I have a brother who is neo-temperance. He gets high and mighty at the mere mention of alcohol.

No.

No.

I've never made these promises; I've never has reason to.

No.

When I go to a bar, I don't always order food while I drink. Are you referring to this, or long term drinking periods?

Nope.

No.

No, but when I'm really really tired, I see rabbits out of the corner of my eye (seriously).

No.

Trick question! Since alcohol is a depressent, everyone gets a little depressed when drinking.

Where did you get this ridiculous test? At a MADD meeting?

If I was in it for the alcohol, I'd be buying cheap vodka, rather than expensive beer. More alcohol per dollar that way.

One sure sign of alcoholism is when someone drinks a lot of Bud and then posts to Usenet accusing other people of being alcoholics.
