I was at the grocery and found a six pack of Paulander Salvator Double bock! It was on sale for $6! A good one for the cold weather and a great one to start the weekend. Cheers!

I doubt that. It's more likely that you found some *Paulaner* (no 'd') Salvator Doppelbock.
Paulaner changed the formulation of this beer a few years ago. It was once a wonderful, rich, dark bock, and deserved all the accolades heaped upon it. Now the beer is a pale shadow of its former self, paler and lacking many of the nuances of its flavor of bygone years. (Don't get me started about the disappearance of the late, lamented Paulaner Ur-Bock, either.) Go for the likes of Ayinger Celebrator, Tucher Bajuvator, Augustiner Maximator... all of these beers are made by brewers who choose to remain faithful to the rich, dark Bavarian Doppelbocks of yore.
Cheers to al of you! I typically drink Bud Light (or Bud). ...Was raised on Coors... Started drinking St. Pauly Girl. Bought Old Milwaukee last night....(havn't had one for 25 years) And it wasn't bad. Cheers Guy
and I raise you one Old Horizonal and one Old Foghorn..barlywine of course
Huh? No, seriously...what's the point of this post in a discussion of Bavarian Dooplebocks?
Would you post to a classic car ng's thread about, say, post-war Studebakers and say, "I've used to drive a Vega, now I have a Hyundai!".
