yet its best when you mix the both.

now lemme pop open my can of natural ice, hehe...

and roll my blunt

oh by the way...this is my first post...

hi ya'll im dominic

and when i do drink, im hooked on a case of natural ice for 9.99

Well, I came to a realization...I weight about 100lbs and was up to a six pack a day by myself! And I got scared that I might have a problem, so I said "if I can't go a week, then I need help." So I'm waiting 7 days to see if I can...so far so good.

If you have a problem controlling your drinking, going a week will prove nothing.

well, it relieves my mind. cuz i've known alcoholics and they couldn't even go twelve hours without a drink. Thanks for commenting. ^_^

Each one of us here will fit into someone's definition of "alcoholic", if we drink more than one beer per day on a regular basis. When I'm sick, as I am now, with the flu, I stop drinking totally, for days at a time, but when I am better, I'll go back to the usual 1 to 4 per night. My ex-wife called me an alcoholic, and my gf calls me an alcoholic, too.

It's interesting that someone mentioned Natural Ice, since that's my beer of choice, since it's cheap and "better than average", imo.

Is this an american view? I'm not being rude, just curious if other countries (esp Europe) have the same parameters to qualify as an over drinker? I know some family members that squinch up if you even have *one* beer, but screw them! :)

In some social circles, only having one drink would be seen as rude, as though you don't want to get relaxed around those folks.

I took a medical survey at work once, long ago, which quantified "heavy" drinker as anyone having more than 3 drinks per week !

A bizarre definition of "problem drinker" I came across once was "anyone who drinks in order to alter his mood". C'mon, that's all of us, right ?

The definition varies from social group to socail group, and doesn't depend on social class. Different groups in the same "social class", i.e. income level, have different rules for drinking.

However, I would have to say that 6 beers per day is the max of any group.

It's kinda funny how some people can like eat 5 cupcakes a day and ain't nobody botherin' them! But boy o boy you have a alcoholic beverage and suddenly you're going to hell! lol!

Definitions of "problem," "heavy," etc. drinking vary widely and, oddly enough, are often based on the agenda the person(s) setting the guidelines are trying to promote.

These days, 2 drinks a day for men is generally considered to be potentially medically beneficial. Three-four drinks doesn't add any benefit, and when you start getting above that, it starts having deleterious effects.

No.

I'd say six beers a day, every day, is a hell of a lot of drinking.

Well, then in that case, I must really be really bad off to be a female who has been consuming at least 12 beers per day, EVERY day for the past 15 years or so. But then again, my roots are from Germany and I was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin - thus making me also a Cheesehead. I believe I came out of the womb consuming beer and holding a chunk of cheddar.

On a side note, just this week I went a full 24 hours without a beer due to lack of funds. I felt fine, but I had to drink water constantly so that the "habit" of holding a glass was still in play.

If beer didn't contain alcohol, I think I'd still consume it anyway.
