Dorothy Goodbody's Stout

Sips: Beer

Most people associate St. Patrick's Day with a rich, black Irish stout. Instead of the usual suspects, try this outstanding import. Dorothy Goodbody's Stout ($3.99) is made from Irish hops and English malt and is one of the best examples I've tasted. It has a rich, full flavor of coffee, chocolate, toffee and the characteristic but gentle bite of roasted barley, with a nice dry finish. The aroma is a combination of roasted notes with the typical fruity bouquet of the best British ales. A multiple award-winner in Europe, Dorothy is sure to become a favorite here.
