Double Dragon

Hey --

I recently moved from St. Louis to New York, and I'd like to know if anyone knows of a place in Manhattan where I can get Double Dragon on draught (I've given up finding it bottled -- from what I understand, there's a distribution problem).

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Well, while there are no absolutes in the tricky world of beer distribution, I'd say if you can't find the bottled version around, it's going to be impossible to find the draught version (since, usually, both are carried by the same distributor).

I see that it's a California based importers, so that complicates matters. On the other hand, I've seen the Felinfoel brand beers in New Jersey, but can't say when or where.

You've tried these people, the US importer, right? (That 609 number is south Jersey...)

Thames America Trading Co Ltd

714 Penny Royal Lane San Rafael CA 94903 USA Tel: West Coast: (415) 492-2204, East Coast: (609) 589-2414

(Altho', beer importers are usually pretty bad at info on the consumer level. Either they don't know, can't tell you, won't tell you or say, "Oh, are beers are available everywhere!" If you're lucky, they'll give you the distributor in you area, who'll give you the same runaround.)

Thanks for the info. I had the draught version at a little bar in St. Louis called Dressel's (a place I highly recommend if you're ever whiling away the time in the Central West End), but at some point I asked at a local store about getting it in bottles and they told me there was some kind of distribution problem.

I'll try the number, though...

but at some point I asked at a local store

"Local"= St. Louis or NYC?

Yeah, that's a variation of what they all say when they can't figure it out or don't want to be bothered.

FYI- There's a Felinfoel brew marketed in the US as "Welsh Ale", some beer sites suggest it's the same stuff but, by the design of the labels, it looks closer to their Dragon Bitter...

It was actually someplace in St. Louis. I've not been in NYC long.

Thanks for the tip about Welsh Ale. I'll keep an eye peeled...
