Finally tried 90 minute IPA:

I know I shouldn't have but I ponied up the $12.00 for a slightly dusty FOUR PACK of this stuff. The first bottle was bad which nearly had me back to the store to return it, but it was snowing mightily (by my still-wimpy Dallas standards) so I cracked open another.

The date on the bottle showed that it was bottled only 4 months ago and I figured that shouldn't be too long for this beer. Maybe I was wrong because I just wasn't impressed. A little too sweet, practically zero hop presence in the nose and the sad wet-cardboard taste of oxidation. Oh well, I've spent 12 bucks in worse ways I suppose. I guess I'll keep a lookout for a fresher 4 pack, although my interest has been dampened in the $8.75 PER BOTTLE (12 oz) 120 minute IPA...

This is odd. I'm not a hop-to-wretched-excess-head, preferring balance instead. I call the Dogfish 60-minute nice but a bit too hoppy; I've truly enjoyed the 90-minute on draft and 750-ml bottle. The 120-minute is, IMO, just a totally wretched excuse to overhop and overcharge.

If the opportunity to try a 750 or draft sample arises, I suggest trying it again. Dogfish has a long history of (at least in my book) producing either grand-slam home runs or ground outs, with almost nothing falling in between.

Haven't tried the 90 in 12 oz bottles, but I've heard tell that it's inferior to the old 750ml version. As strong as it is, age shouldn't be much of a factor, so I doubt that's it.

The 120 did nothing for me. Gee, let's see how much sugar we can shove into a beer to up the abv. Was way too sweet.

I liked the 90 Minute IPA more than you did, but I prefer the 60 Minute IPA by a mile.

You are getting ripped off. I bought a 4 pk today for $8.75 in Madison, NJ. I had two tonight, outstanding. The date on mine are from January. Sorry you got a bad batch, this beer is on my 'must-buy' list on my monthly trips to the packy. My only gripe about this would be I can only have them at home. No way can you drink this and drive, you'll wind up in a ditch. As for the

120 minute, blech. Leo
