is it true that the Kirin and Foster's (one drinkable, one not) sold in the States is actually brewed in Canada?
Quite possibly -- Foster's sold in Canada is contract-brewed by Labatt.

Not sure about Kirin but I do know that Fosters is Canadian for Australian Beer.
