In case you're planning A Movable Feast...

A friend of mine sent me this...

For beer drinkers on this list (I estimate 5, maybe 6 tops) at a local Michigan Upper Peninsula restaurant I saw on the menu a beer named "Two Hearted Ale." [A play on Hemingway's short story, Two Big-Hearted River] I couldn't resist a name like that. The label shows a trout, and offers this explanation:

"An India Pale Ale style well suited for Hemingway-esque style trips to the Upper Peninsula. American malts and enormous hop additions give this beer a crisp finish and an incredibly floral hop aroma."

I didn't notice the incredibly floral hop aroma, but I'm not a particularly good judge of such things. The beer was not bad. It's bottled by the Kalamazoo Bottling Company from Comstock, MI; perhaps it's available at other locations in the state and elsewhere. I would think a bottle should be on the shelf of all beer drinkers on this list. All six.

Two-Hearted Ale has been around awhile, and is certainly available outside Michigan. It's a nice, hoppy beer. I believe it uses only Centennial hops.
