Hi, I'm visiting Las Vegas next month, staying at New York, New York. Looking for recommended brewpubs and beer bars around the Strip. I'm especially interested in beers from Nevada or adjoining states. Street names would be helpful please.

I'm no expert on this topic, but I don't believe there *are* beer bars in Vegas. There's a few liquor stores where you could get Stone and Casta products. There's 1 or 2 brewpubs, but one (Ellis Island) is notoriously bad. I didn't go there myself (its a bit away from The Strip), but I've heard some stories...as in its "hilariously bad".
Hit pubcrawler.com and check out the listings for Las Vegas. I haven't been there in about 6 years but last time I went, Gordon Biesch and Holy Cow stood out in my memory. I think we hit 4 or 5 BP in vegas but only really remember those. leo

Yes, I've been to that one. The beer was good. The ambiance is kind of industrial, with exposed bricks, ductwork on the ceiling, etc.

Chicago Brewing Company Ft Apache and Sahara is quite good. Also Teneya Creek on Teneya across from Mountian View Hospital. Alas Holy Cow is closed. Gordon Biesch has a good reputaion. I've the beer but haven't been to the facility.
