From Midnight Sun Brewing: Sockeye Red IPA & Kodiak Nut Brown Ale From Rockies Brewing: Hazed and Infused Dry Hopped Ale & Planet Porter

I just finished one of the H & I and I like it. Lots of pine on the nose(always a good thing for me) and very full flavoured with a nice, relatively long, after taste. Hmm...to bad I can't get this Colorado offering in Casper. ;^(

The Kodiak Nut Brown Ale...pretty average except there's something in the background that almost tastes burnt. Weird, huh?

Didn't like that one all that much. The Sockeye Red was pretty good, though. Had their tripel a while back and there was something wrong with it. It tasted like cheddar. No, really, cheddar. It wasn't gross or funky or in any way tasted actively bad, it just tasted like cheddar.

I should probably re-evalulated a different bottle at some point in the future.

I just got done drinking alot of H&I on last weekend's camping trip. Yea, piney for sure. I'm a big fan of that Sockeye Red though.

For me, it would have been gross. I hate cheddar.

Hmmm....the label says it's brewed and bottled by Uinta Brewing from SLC. I don't like that Utah microbrewery; I've other stuff of theirs in the past.

The Sockeye is ok, imho.

And yet...the last bottle of Sockeye I'm sipping on right now is proving my last statement wrong. It's being a "sweet" IPA...
