Looking for local brew

I recently discovered a brew that I REALLY like, it's the Pacific Golden Ale from the Kona Brewing company of Kona, HI. I was able to purchase one case from a distributer in Costa Mesa CA who now tells me they can't get any more. The Kona Brewery sheet describes the ale as follows:

"Pale gold in color PGA (Pacific Golden Ale) is the perfect introduction to Kona Brew. It is a light to medium bodied ale with a delicate hop aroma and subtle fruity flavor.

Bittering Units (BU) = 20 Alcohol by volume = 5%"

The taste, to my wife, was "yeasty" but with my messed up tastes I couldn't say but I'll trust her judgment.

Since I apparently can't get this nectar east of the Faralons (islands west of San Francisco) I have to find a local brew that's similar. I live in the San Francisco Bay area, can somebody suggest a local brew that might come close?

The Kona PGA is considered just an expensive run-of-the-mill microbrew here in the islands. For a more full-bodied flavor, try Kona's Fire Rock Ale instead. Much more complex!

Unless something changed recently you should be able to get a number of kona beers at SFBA beverages & More stores. I didn't notice it when I stopped by the WC store today but I wasn't looking, and I know I've seen it recently (within the last month).

Unfortunately Hitimewines stopped carrying it even though it's listed on their website and BevMo hasn't carried it in a long time. I checked the Walnut Creek store for it about

2-3 weeks ago. Also I was told when at the brewery that BevMo had stopped carrying it a while ago. Tod, the Pub Assistant General Manager, told me in a recent email that "Southern Wine and Spirits is a distributor of our product in California" but have you ever tried to find anything on their website?

Oh well I'll enjoy what's left of the one case I did manage to get before it was dropped.

my mistake, I know bevmo has had it in the past and I could have sworn I'd seen it recently (in the last couple months) my memory and/or observation ability must be failing me.
