That Shipyard Fuggles IPA is FG, IMO. One of my favorite IPAs.

I've really liked some single-hop IPAs (Avery is all Centennial IIRC, and Sly Fox's Simcoe and Target both rocked), but I'm just not a big Fuggle fan. Which is a shame, as I could say the word "Fuggle" all day long. --

Anchor Steam is all Northern Brewer. I think I read somewhere that Hop Ottin' was all Centennial or Columbus (one of those C hops). Those are some pretty solid beers.

Our local brewpub, Free State (Lawrence, KS) does a nice single hop ale. The keep the malt recipe constant, but change the hop.

Wow. I thought the Shipyard was the only single hopped Ale I've had. Live and learn.

Yup that's how I learned I'm not the biggest fan of Northern Brewer. I don't care alot for the hop character of Anchor Steam. Anchor Liberty is all Cascade, and a favorite of mine. Victory made an all hallertuaer pils that blew my mind.

Which one is that? I'll be sure to try the next time I'm in Lawrence. The Copperhead? That's one of my favorites of theirs, outside of the barleywine and imperial stout, both of which rocked.

The single hop beer is called Hop Jack. I don't know if they make it on any regular schedule. You're right about the imperial (especially the barrel aged) and barleywine. Good stuff.

It's not so much the Fuggles I mind as the ringwood yeast in the Shipyard beers--save the buttered toast for breakfast.
