New Belgium Transatlantique Kriek

Anybody tried this one yet? My fav retailer said he'd have it in stock in a couple of weeks.

Yep, I've had it. What do you want to know? It's not horribly syrupy sweet or anything like that, and it's not a bad drop, but I'd just as soon drink Boon Kriek straight, especially if it's the Mariage Parfait. Interesting idea, not badly executed.

Naturally I hate to plug my own website, but I did just write about the Transatlantique there, so...

It's at the bottom of the page.

Btw, my fav pub now has Snake River Zonker Stout and New Belgium Blue Paddle on tap.... eat your heart out.

Just tried it last night. It was just so so. Basically they took Boon's kriek and mixed it some kind of light ale, not too sure what exactly. So it loses some of its lambic edge and comes across a bit sweet.

Thats what I wrote in my notes: the Boon Kriek is better alone than this mix. I said it was sweet in my other post...I agree its not syrupy but without the lambic tartness, its sweeter than I'd like.

I finally tried some. Not bad. So...Boon Kriek...is that similar to the Lindemans?
