New Brewery In Cincinnati

A new brewer on Cincinnati's West Side is preparing to opento the public in 2015, WCPO reports. James Gunnarson and his wife plan to open Bridgetown Brew Works in the former Wullenweber Motors location at 3044 Harrison Ave. in Westwood. The brewery, which is already under construction, will occupy 2,200 square feet of the 12,000-square-foot building and open the rest to local vendors. The Gunnarsons are hoping to create their new business without loans or investors, relying on friends and family to fund the venture. Their recent Fundable.com campaign failed to achieve its goal, but the couple will launch a Kickstarter campaign to give crowdfunding another try. Bridgetown Brew Works will be focused on more than beer, Gunnarson said, with 5 percent of its $25,000 Kickstarter goal set aside for Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center and 5 percent of its quarterly profits being donated to local charities. Gunnarson is planning to launch the brewery with five core beers and add more options as the business grows. The varieties are expected to be a nod to Cincinnati's German heritage. Industries: Manufacturing, Retailing & Restaurants
