New to the group

Hello, everyone!

I just stumbled across the group, and decided this was the group for me.

A little about myself:

I first got into drinking "good" beers while in college. I attended Ball State in Muncie, Indiana. Located there was a tavern known as the "Heorot." This was one of those places that had 50+ beers on tap, another 100-150 in bottles, and the most mass-marketed item available was Fosters. Needless to say, I spent much of my final years of college there, and discovered some of my favorite beers... (if anyone else here has been there, hit me up).

As of now, I live in Salisbury, NC... The best beer selection in my area (to my knowledge) is The Flying Saucer - in nearby Charlotte. I've been fortunate enough that there are a few wine stores and a Harris Teeter that carries a decent selection - but North Carolina apparently has a law regarding the alcohol content of beers, which means I cannot easily locate some items (Chimay and various barleywines come to mind - sadly this means I haven't been able to "torture" any beer newbies with an Old Crusty... ;-) ).

Just a few of my Favorite Beers (in no particular order):

- Tetleys

- Celebrator

- Rogue's Dead Guy Pale Ale (which I am enjoying while I type this)

- Guinness

- Franziskaner Dunkle Heffe-Weisse

- Sierra Nevada Pale Ale

- Sammy Smith's Oatmeal Stout

- Michelob Amber Bock

- Dixie Blackened Voodoo

- Woodchuck Amber
