Online beer distributors

I'm looking for someone who will ship me some Thomas Kemper beer from Paulsbo, WA. Does anyone know of online or other distributors who will take orders and ship to Indiana (without charging an arm and a leg)? I don't want to join a club.

I'd also like to get some Henry Weinhard's too. thanks, DK

Not sure how much shipping is or what laws are in effect for Indiana, but this place has a-one customer service. Hope it helps

Absolutely, Steve. Top notch service, but I only see one Kemper beer on their website, and it's the Weizenberry. Come to think about it, I haven't seen Kemper beers listed on any of the online retailers I frequent.

Best regards, Bill

There's also Belmont Station-

I've been happy with the couple times I ordered from them. IIRC, they've since had some trouble with UPS and now ship by freight trucking lines, so the minimum order is 100 lbs. -"three or four cases".

(without charging an arm and a leg)?

Well, it's not the retailer charging you "an arm and leg", it's shipping costs that usually double the price but that's just because beer is so heavy and shipping, whether by US Mail, UPS or a freight line is based on weight.

Yea, verily.

Belmont Station probably doesn't have TK beers in stock and will definitely not have Henry Weinahard's, but if you're buying case lots, they can get them for you. Assuming, of course, that Thomas Kemper beers are still available here in Portland; I can't remember the last time I saw them, but they're *probably* available.

Liquid Solutions, btw, is in the same position: if the local distributor has them in stock, and you're buying cases, they can get them. TK is, I'm pretty sure, from Columbia, but I'm not sure who is handling Henry's - their beers were never high on my list, but since they abandoned and tore down the Portland brewery that had been their home since before the *last* century, and abandoned even the Tumwater brewing operation, I've had no interest in supporting this brand.

At one time, we could get pretty good Henry's, on tap in the brewery. But they've abandoned Portland so screw them and their beer.

This is impossible - or if you get any, it will be incredibly stale. Thomas Kemper beer is not from *Poulsbo*, WA. It hasn't been for many years. It is brewed by Pyramid at their brewery in Seattle.

Oh, Guess

You *do* know where the top-fermenting beers in Henry's range are being brewed now, right? Does Hood River and Full Sail ring a bell? You can justifiably avoid the brewed-in-California Henry's lagers, but the hefeweizens and ales are brewed in Oregon - again.

And "Henry's" didn't abandon anything. Stroh/Heilemann quit the brewing business and sold off all their brands, with Miller and Pabst dividing the spoils between them. Pabst shut down and sold off the former Blitz-Weinhard brewery in Portland, ending more than a century of brewing there, and production moved to Seattle and the Rainier brewery for a while, until that was shut down. Production then moved to the former Olympia Brewery in Tumwater, which had become a Miller plant after Miller bought it from Pabst, which has quit the brewing business entirely - Pabst only markets beer that others brew for them. With Pabst and Miller shutting down every sizable brewery that they had owned in the Northwest, there wasn't much left, but at least Full Sail has earned the concession to brew some Henry's beers in Hood River, bringing some of the Henry's range back to Oregon.

Better?
