I can't say that I do.

I remember pals labelling certain beers as "headache" beers, meaning "hangover" the next day.

I've had many hangovers, but it wasn't because of the particular beer, but due to massive volume of intake.

But, apparently, many people are susceptible (allergic) to some beers.

And some people are even prone to believe their own bullshit - like how certain beers give them headaches.

isn't there some sort of off alcohol produced from under fermentation which can result in such a "phenomenon"?

Fusels and so-called "lower" alcohols, perhaps, as well as acetaldehydes, can contribute to headaches to people of varying sensitivity. But Bud contains detectable amounts of acetaldehyde, and people still drink the stuff in mass quantities.

Oh, Guess

I have known people with extreme allergies to have problems with the hops in _some_ highly hopped beers, which could certainly include _some_ pale ales. That's about the only thing I can think of, though.
