Re: Dogfish in White Horse (London)

One of the strangest beery nights I've had in my life (rubbing

Hi Mike, It certainly was an interesting evening; not least the fact that we had been talking to each other on the BSF-ROW bar and on the train for more than an hour before realizing whom each of us was talking to, especially as we had met once before!! And don't forget that I'm now a beer marketer, too.

So how many pints of 120 Minute IPA did you get through? I did about

15 oz before I had to leave. Ended up sharing the tube home to east London with Peter Alexander that night.

I've had in my life . . .

& mighty fine beers too. yes very funny, the whole mutual non-recognition thing, but we didn't meet for very long at zerodegs IIRC?

how many pints? - oh I lost count ;~) no, prob less than one, but along with drinking the one-off cask Courage Imp Ruskie Stout & other weighty ones (incl cask HopDevil) in the day at GBBF, plus the Raisin d'Etre, Half-a-Wit etc, I was getting the hangover before I'd really enjoyed the drunkenness!

I somehow made it back to the staff accom OK.

Good to re-meet you anyway, cheers Mike. mic (underscore) mac (at) postmaster (dot) co (dot) uk

I was working Tues pm & Weds daytime, down on the Yankily section of BSF. Pete said you were about & invited me to the Lees trip, I was looking

4ward to it, but summat came up on the Saturday, plus I didn't fancy any more time on sweaty trains.

I hope so.

Last time I was in Mash (a while ago) the beer was not great (not fresh, apart from the bought in Lager). Freedom makes me laugh - a really decent German brewer (great weizen last I was there), and most of the drinkers are on the imported bottled German Freedom Pils, (330mls for the price of a fresh 568ml pint)!

It's not perfect (e.g. v. loud music fri/sat pm), but Zerodegs IMO does the whole trendy brew/bar/restaurant thing better than the other two - the menu is not so fancy, but decent unfiltered beer with fresh woodfired pizza is a heaven-made match (much more diverse beer range too). Prices are better because it's not central London, but only a

20min train ride out, so no problem & a walk from Greenwich is just beautiful. Anyway, enough of that, I no longer have any connection (apart from still friends with new brewer) but just think they do a pretty good job of things.

not tried it, but did have their Dark Lager in Dublin over Xmas - OK, butnot sock-blowing & not a patch IMO on the Plain or Wrasslers. as you say, maybe next time, cheers Mike

And another Yank to the lot. And, yes, the whole week was a bit of a blur. All I really remember is being hotter than I have in my life. And I live in a desert, for Christ sake.

He knows. I also heard their application to join the EBCU was not approved.
