Rolling Rock's misguided ad campaign

Sorry to post about an industrial barley-based solvent mostly used by collegians (Rolling Rock) in a beer newsgroup.

We were driving home from our first of several T-giving gourge-fests today and noticed a billboard regarding a recent supposed tasteless add for Rolling Rock beer involving an ape - something to the effect of "beer ape" or whatever. I could not abide my sensibilities, so I searched and found very few hits -- surprisingly. There was a video link to YouTube that mentioned a web address at the end. It's fairly obvious they are waging a Miller Lite-esque style add that is incredibly far off of target. The concept is that people will be intrigued (ala "What is M-Life? from AT&T) and go to the friendsofrollingrock dot com website. Like a tool, I did that very thing. Is this not ridiculous? I guess it generates web traffic. Oh well...

To get back on topic to beer, I have a keg of Sam Adams Winter Lager coming for the barmeister. I don't think it can be topped in the arena of mass-produced sesonal beers; all opinion ofcourse... Discuss if you wish...

I always appreciated Consumer Report's take on major beer company's product. They describe them as "Alcohol injection systems", he he. In other words, that shit that passes for the average American beer is simply a tasteless way for a good percentage of folks to get as much alcohol into their bodies as possible without any regards to taste. Voila, average USA beer standards, low as ever..c

Yup. I think the Simpsons had it right in the Duff Brewery tour episode where the camera pans up to reveal that Duff, Duff Light, and NEW! Duff Dry are all pouring from the same pipe into three seperate bottling lines.

And RE: "mass-produced sesonal beers" -- normally I would spell sesonal correctly, but today is kinda special...
