sad distributive lack of Stone 10

Sad 'cuz I probably won't get a chance to try it. And it's brewed in So. Cal and I'm in No Cal, so it's not even an East Coast-West Coast thing. (I hear from reputable folk that Three Floyds Dreadnought Double is otherworldly, but try getting it in California.) A liquor store owner in Berkeley tells me - and this guy knows his beer! - that something like 75 cases were shipped to No.Cal.

75 measly cases? Is there some sort of Beer Cold War going on 'tween So and No Cal?

I got an email from my bro in So Cal as soon as Stone 10 came out, praise-singing it. So I go to BevMo and they say they got it in and it sold out in a day, mostly to UC Berkeley students. I start asking around. No one can get it. I have the BevMo manager take my number and he agrees to search for more. He calls me two days later and says he can't get any. WTF?

Take a trip to SoCal. There's still quite a bit of it about, at least in the LA area.

They did do a good job with it this year. Not as good as the 8-year (I didn't have last year's anniversary beer), but good.
