Some Bigfoot may be in stores now, but one case of it has been sittin' in my garage for over a month now...(next to an already 1/2 empty case of Troegs Nugget Nectar).

Been drinking it for almost two months now. About time to go get our third case.

Had a nice bourbon-barrel-conditioned version on tap a couple of nights ago. Very nice. Well, if you like those kinds of flavors, anyway. The hops were still there, but not as in-your-face as usual.

Bourbon-barrel Bigfoot?! I hate you.

Yep. Got to side-by-side it with a locally-made bourbon-barrel BW, too.

Well, hell, while I'm on a roll...

The bourbon-barrel Bigfoot was Thursday night. Friday night, there were 2005/2006 verticals of Old Foghorn, Hale's Rudyard's Rare, and Alaskan Big Nugget. Saturday, there was a cask beer festival. Drinkin' went on there, yes.

Next Saturday, I'm judging barleywines at the Hard Liver BW Festival.

I'll have to switch to drinking something lighter after that for a while. Hmmm. Where *did* I put that absinthe?

So how was it? Frankly, when I think bourbon-barrel beer I think something maltier, chewier, and less hoppy than Bigfoot would fit the bill better as a base beer. Like an Imperial Stout, or with an easier hand on the bourbon, a big brown. (My local homebrew club has 53 gallons of Imperial Stout sitting in a barrel fresh from Buffalo Trace. Should prove an interesting experience, if nothing else.)

I still hate you, pnuk.

**Heh.
