Hello All,
I am a big fan of Sierra Nevada's Celebration Ale. Has anyone seen and tasted this year's batch?
Thanks!

A very brief look at past USENET articles suggests that November is when SNCA usually is released, e.g., November 1 was cited a few years ago. Last year, though, there was mention of an earlier release sometime towardthe end of October. Either way, and depending on your location, I'd not anyone to see it for at least a week or so. I'm also surprised the brewing company doesn't make more of a splash with announcing seasonal releases, like having a countdown on their web site. I know *I'd* check it every day if they did.
Tide yourself over with their Harvest Ale if you can find it. A wet-hopped beer that is amazing. It's draught only and I don't think they make a whole lot of it although it seems to find its way farther and farther afield each year as I saw it on tap in Dallas this year...

And if you can't find that, Mercury Brewing's exceedingly hoppy Harvest Ale has reminded me slightly, from the first sip, of SNCA.
I picked up a case of it last night here in Colorado... Seemed a bit dumbed down this year... HAHAHAHA!!! Not really, tastes excellent as always!

I haven't had it yet, but I'm *sure* it's simply not as hoppy as last year, and has been dumbed down in gravity, too!
OK, now we've got that out of the way for the year.
Thanks, Joel, I've been waiting. So... now we can get back to vaulable discussions, like What Beers Do You Got in Your Fridge!!!!11!!!!!
I just downed a sixer last night. It actually DID seem less hoppy than last year. I recall last year remarking to my brewing mentor how SNCA may be the one beer that actually is *TOO* hoppy. I mean it was
*REALLY* hoppy. I reached hops saturation in one bottle. He said a couple of weeks in cold storage would fix that. So, last night I'm expecting that ol' hops overdose, but it never came. Less hoppy than I expected. But, to be fair, I've been seeking out more and more hoppy beers since last year. Could be my tolerance is way up.nb

Is it too early to point out that the not-as-of-yet released 2006 Bigfoot was/will be clearly dumbed down? I like to plan ahead.
Also, 2010 Old Horizontal will be excellent.
I seriously think last year's SNCA was the hoppiest version of it in years.
I haven't seen it in a few years. I guess that's one of the reasons God made Colorado?!
If you'd planned ahead, you'd be so busy drinking last year's Bigfoot you wouldn't have time to posit '06. ;).
nb ...on my second '05 BF
But wait, there's more:
I haven't had it yet, either, but I'm sure it's not as malty as in the past.
Of course, if Celebration actually kept losing its malt and/or hops every year like is always declared, it would actually be Bud by now.
