Stroh's in bottles (don't laugh)

Has anyone tried Stroh's in bottles. I picked one up out of my neighbor's fridge and to be honest, it was not bad. It had a pseudo German lager beer taste with a hint of honey.

Definitely not a home brew, IPA or Pilsner or a custom brew. But I loath Budweiser and it tasted better in my opinion! LOL!

where do you get Strohs?!?

They closed the plant in Detroit a long time ago.

You are joking are you not?

Brings back fond memories of quafing BIG mugs of 25cent regular and

35cent dark (YUM!!!) Strohs in the neighborhood of the Beer Capital of the World University of the World, Michigan Technological University back in the early seventies.

OH, AND OF COURSE, WHILE CHEWING ON FREE SALTED PEANUTS IN THE SHELL TOO!

at the Library Bar,

love and peace,

LoL group! Stroh's is not bad, nor does it taste like piss beer. I buy it in Akron, Ohio and it is bottled in Milwaukee! Stumbling upon some old style beers can be interesting!

Praise for an American macro? Saying stuff like that'll get you kicked out of the club!

It's brewed and bottled by the remaining big brewer in Milwaukee: Miller. Try not to be too surprised. It's typical pale-colored North American Industrial Lager (NAIL). I doubt you could tell it from anything else in a blind taste-test.

If by interesting, you mean boring, yes.

Oh, Guess

I used to drink Strohs when I was fifteen. My tastes have matured a bit since then, however.

Btw, no offense intended, Valerie, I'm just passionate about the fact that I hate beer that IMO does not meet my qualifications... it's definately not personal, or anything... ;-D

since i take a lot of medication now that i am older and "sicker" i cannot drink alcoholic beverages nearly as frequently nor at all as much as i once did.

however, i do wish more inexpensive, drinkable, beers were available as in times past in the quart sized already cold containers instead of just "the kink of beers".

blatz used to be an ok beer too.

drewies (sp?) was an old favorite.

black label, "Hey Mabel!"

schlitz was there too!

all of these were under a dollar a quart and cold for you at the corner party store. Now some pissy wine cooler, rot gut malt licker, BUD a.g.a.i.n.,paying for the adverting for s.a.m.e.o.l.d.t.a.s.t.e., or really shelling out big bucks for some imported brew that may be good.

what's the USA coming too?

BRING BACK some drinkable, economical, beers. I can just imagine the conspiracy that has caused them all to almost vanish.

peace and love,

so i give you all the following link to start you own brewries to fix the problem:
