Not if the Czech Budweiser is the true subject!
Budweizer Budvar is also pretty bad ......
I've only had it once, but I was pretty underwhelmed. In was more or less inoffensive (unlike the Victoria Bitter I tried before it, which was so awful I couldn't even finish it -- this bar had a pretty dire selection!), but was also extremely boring.
Maybe it's better fresh near the brewery...

Well, it's FAR, FAR better than that merkin s**te that stole its name, no matter how far it's travelled. However, most beers are better fresh from the brewery and this is no exception. Having done a tour round the brewery in Cesky Budejovice and then consuming a fair few pints in the brewery bar, I can say that it is indeed true.
This is not in dispute; still, that's rather faint praise...
