What an incredible beer Theakston's Grouse Beater is!
When the local real-ale (CAMRA listed) pub recived a barrel as a guest
beer last week it sold out within hours!
Theakston's Grouse Beater is not a strong ale, around 4.2 ABV I
believe, with a light colour and a floral aroma and flavour
reminiscent of peaches (to me) and straw (to some others) and with a
sweet taste, not bitter, which surprisingly was loved by the drinkers
of real ale here - most of us generally going for a sharp hoppy ale.
Definitely worth a taste if you find it!
