Thirsty Dog? Out of business

I noticed the Thirsty Dog is out of business in Akron and Canton Ohio. Their food kinda sucked anyhow. They got rid of the Brauts 4 years ago.

Their beer was good compared to the other brews in town anyhow.

What's another good alternative?

Drink as much Great Lakes as humanly possible, particularly the Eliot Ness and Edmund Fitzgerald Porter. --

I don't care what the question is, that's a pretty damned good answer.

I've been enjoying their Dortmunder Gold recently. Good stuff and an underrepresented style among US breweries.

Ummm, last I saw at least four of the Thirsty Dog beers were being brewed/bottled at Frederick Brewing in Frederick, Maryland. They've just started appearing in the Baltimore markets a couple months ago................

Maybe the mix will stay, but the brand is gone.

. I prefer more malty styles, the Burning river PA strikes me as too hoppy

Weeeellll...I grew up in Amish country, and let me tell ya...the boy's shirts is one place where they DO let it all hang out. I wouldn't be surprised to see a neon pink shirt on an Amishman, especially if they were running a special on neon pink at Mary Lapp's Fabric Store in Smoketown. Now, a neon pink pair of trousies...THAT would be weird.

I'm a firm believer that "hops are our friends," but poor balance between hops and malt in either direction usually results in something your drink occasionally for an adventure rather than what you drink regularly.
