More than a dozen local breweries are taking part in VolksFest this
Saturday.

Held at Listermann Brewing Company in Norwood, the event also features
brews from Blank Slate, Fifty West, Christian Morelein, Rock Bottom,
Rivertown, Mount Carmel, MadTree, Cellar Dweller, Wiedemann,
Rhinegeist, Triple Digit and Great Crescent; the emphasis is on lower
ABV and session beers for summer.

Bringing a German feel to the event, the German-American Citizens
League of Greater Cincinnati will feature booths, banners and parades
to talk about their respective clubs.

The event kicks off at 9 a.m. with kegs and eggs in the tasting room
and runs until 11 p.m. Cincinnati council member Yvette Simpson will
tap the ceremonial keg of Listermann Volksfest Lager at 4:15 p.m.

Live music will be offered for much of the day; the schedule is:

11:30 a.m.: He and Him

2 p.m.: Blechblaser Zinzinnati

4 p.m.: Autobahn Musik

7:15 p.m.: Just Strange Brothers

9:15 p.m.: Listermann Honkytonk Trio

Food vendors will also be on hand.

Admission is free. Families and dogs are welcome.
