Wheat beer

Tonight I tried a couple Hacker-Pschorn weiss. The wife saw it and told me it was an IPA. $6.99 in Ohio. It does not have the sediment the others I have tried. But it lacks a little in the bite. Definitely a wheat flavor in the beer.

Did I actually say Stroh's was good. LOL!

Boulevard makes the only wheat worth guzzling.

It does indeed have sediment but depending on how long it has sat on the shelf it will have settled out of solution. Just pour 4/5ths of the bottle and give the remaining bit a good swirl and you will have your sediment.

Unless of course it was Kristal-Weisse.

Hacker-Pschorr?

Um, not even close. It's a Bavarian wheat beer.

For what? Six-pack of twelve-ouncers, two half-liters, what?

It might be a filtered wheat beer, commonly called just "weissbier" or "kristallweizen." It should lack bite; Bavarian wheat beers are low-hop beers at around 20 or so IBU. What would you call "definitely a wheat flavor?" It has a lot of flavors going on, with significant contributions from the yeast.

'Just good for an over the counter "cheap" brew' actually. But then, I don't buy beer OTC - I buy it off the shelf (OTS). Might be different where you live.
