Local Brewer Counting On Comeback Posted By: Laura Hornsby

CINCINNATI (AP) - The disappearing beer is poised for a comeback.

Fans of Wiedemann - long a Cincinnati-area staple - have largely gone thirsty since early spring because of financial difficulties at Pittsburgh Brewing Company. But they should be able to get their hands on a cold one by early August.

The company is emerging from bankruptcy protection under the new name of Iron City Brewing Company. Sales manager Tony Ferraro says Wiedemann will be reintroduced in 12-ounce bottles. Distribution to bars and restaurants will increase in the first quarter of 2008.

"Weideman. It's Registered."
