Wine (Beer) Refrigerator/Cooler???

A local store has a sale on a Haier Wine Refrigerator. It holds 40 or so bottles of wine (laying down). It has a digital temperature setting that allows the user to set the temp between 45 & 60 degrees F.

My question is that I am looking for something to cool my 22 ounce bottled conditioned English ale homebrews. If I purchase this cooler should I store the capped (not corked) bottles on their side or should I store them standing up? Not sure it will hold as many bottles standing up.

Also, what is a good storage temperature for bottle conditioning? I don't use priming sugar, allowing the yeast to give me natural carbonation. Currently my bottles are stored upright in my closet under the stairs which is about 70 degrees F.

Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Bruce

Huh? Since when has using priming sugar (I used to use powdered malt extract) been considered NOT natural carbonation? Seems to me a fully fermented beer might take a long time to carbonate without some added sugar in one form or another (sugar, malt powder, wort) for the yeast to ferment. I suppose one could bottle before all the fermentable sugars are used up, but it seems like a lot of work and a lot of dependence on timing, recipes and readings (and, possibly, a lot of broken bottles to clean up).

Artificial carbonation is (or, at least, used to be...) injecting CO2 directly into the beer.
