World Beer Festival Report

It was a lot of fun, tried lots of new stuff. This was the first year that they sold out both sessions, unfortunately we were only able to go to the evening session and they ran out of several beers before we got a chance to try them.

They sold the cask beers $1 for 2 2-oz pours or $5 for 12 2-oz pours to raise money for Pop the Cap. All of these were good.

The best we tried by far was Kuhnhenn's Creme Brule Java Stout. Avery's Ellie's Brown Ale, Orkney's Dragonhead Stout, Moon River's Captain's Porter were also excellent. The Kurpiowski Honey Wine from Poland was great too, but it was actually a mead.

I also liked the Arcobrau Dark Wheat, Snow Goose, Ephemere, and Maredsous 6. The only one I hated enough to write it down was the Frank Graham Porter from Top of the Hill.
