Yay!

My local grocery store just booted all the "malt-ternatives" and filled the empty space with such favorites as Old Speckled Hen, Boddingtons, Bass, etc... I know it's not fancy micro-brews, but hey it's better than the other

90% of the aisle, which is *all* Anheuser Busch products!

Now I don't have to drive all the way across town to the snooty wine store! ^_^

Just thought I'd share my joy.

Looks like you lean towards the UK offerings...not a bad thing, imho.

See if they carry some of the: Fullers, Sam Smiths, St. Peters, Wynchwood, Youngs products. Very nice samples from each to be had. If you can find them.

I'll keep my hopes up! There was also Pilsner Urquell, but I forgot to mention it.

Like Bill said the Sam Smiths is worth looking for. Try the Oatmeal Stout and the Porter. I used to find some really good ales from Shepherd Neame, but they seemed to have disappered from around here. Haven't seen any in a few years.

and if you favor something with more of a sweet malty flavor I recommend Smith's Nut Brown, and While I was on a grocery run I was shocked to see sitting out with all of the "organic" (you know the stuff for the twigs and berries crowd) to see some Samuel Smith beers with the Label saying organic.
