camra meetings

For 40 years no-one but the active 2% of camra members turned up to meetings and now one branch thinks it's only the younger generation!

The latter article suggests that publicans will get together and have their own festival. Around my way many pubs already have festivals. In general those noted for serving real ale consistently well during the year tend to succeed with the festivals and those who have no reputation for selling real ale are not so well attended. Some of these festivals are larger than those held by local camera branches and the beer is often much cheaper , when factoring in zero entrance charges to the pub.

Breweries are not going to survive by having a token beer at a camra festival - they need real outlets that take their beer every day!

I want to take more of a part but my nearest camra is not my local camra. I live in Mitcham cr4 but I mainly drink in Tooting sw19. NOT ALLOWED!!

As far as I know you can ask HQ to affiliate you to the branch of your choice

- it certainly happens here in Essex!

True and the rules allow you to participate in branch meetings other than in your own branch area, including voting but not membership of the committee.
