If Black Sheep Bitter is one of the best beers in the country I think I'll emigrate.
Can't think of anything much less appealing.

Are you one of those people who think that everyone's tastes apart from yours is wrong?

Probably, but thinking about it I don't think I know anyone who likes Black Sheep. It seems to be stocked by landlords who think they ought to stock a guest beer, but don't know anything about it.

I kinda like the whole Black Sheep range, especially the Riggwelter. Rather the BSB than all the tasteless blondes so prevalent today. More and more the ales are starting to be no better than the lagers: cold and wet.

Perhaps you should try it in a pub where they do know something about it?

But surely any landlord who knows anything about it wouldn't stock it?
Like Paul Rigg, I know of nobody who would have Black Sheep out of choice. Thank goodness the dales now have Copper Dragon, a brewery which is making significant inroads into the sacred Theakston/Black Sheep territory.

True. I have a night in Masham this week, so I'm guessing it will be a Theakstons / Black Sheep experience. I'll report back though I have to say BS and Theakstons are not my favourites.
Now Copper Dragon!!

I like a well kept sheep myself. There is a point here in that a lot of pubs that don't really do real ale tend to sell Sheep or Duchars as a gues beer. It might put you off if you had several bad ones in a row.

That says as much about the brewery as the pubs. Wasn't it Donnington's who insisted in vetting pubs to see if they were good enough to be allowed to stock their beer? If Black Sheep will let anybody have it regardless of cellarmanship, they have only themselves to blame if much of it is badly kept.
