cheap real ale!

Regardless of the motive behind it, I find it most welcome. I'm sick of pubs which blare music out so you can't talk to each other; and even when they play it at a sensible volume I don't prefer it to silence.

I believe your understanding is, therefore, quite wrong.

Tim thingy also owns 'LLoyds Bars', some of which were originally opened as JD's, wherein you may listen to music to your hearts contentlement - and it can even be of the 'Live' genre! Although I have it on unvalidated authority that on its last legs it may often very well be. Furthermore, there can be seen sundry electric screens nailed to the walls displaying cavortination and other such excesses (even in colour)

- no so in the original concept JD's, methinks.
