Coniston Blebird

I like Gold Miner, which is available in our local Co-op (Knebworth, Herts.) and no doubt in many, if not all, others. I've also had and enjoyed Morrison's own-brand 'The Best' Bottle Conditioned Ale, which is also a Freeminer brew, and 6% vol. IIRC.

I might just have time to take a look for the 'Best', if I can get my chores done in time tomorrow. Monday, I have to go to Portsmouth to pick up and return with my wife, as round trip of about 530 miles, so I will be feeling crap on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Freeminer's beers are often available from the Co-op.( either as such, or with a Co-op own-brand label). Booth's are *the* bottle outlet in you area.

Oh! that is interesting, as I have been looking for a Coop for some time. I'll get back to you on the quality.

That's not too difficult:

I have been a bit busy since I posted the above. Tuesday saw me in Chorley's Accident and Emergency. After being examined by a very good doctor I was transferred to Preston's accident and emergency department where I was diagnosed with a bit of jelly at the back of my eye having broken off. I was then told to come back on Thursday at 1530 hrs at the end of the clinic where I was diagnosed as having a detached retina, Following morning I was driven down to Manchester's eye hospital where I stayed until Monday, but I did get to sample some of the other beers this week. Other than that, I have had an alcohol free weekend and I am someone who goes out to sample a couple of beers every day.

The first bottle I tried, after the Blue Bird was the Timothy Taylor's Landlord. It was not as bad as the Bluebird, when the gas went away. Next was Hawks Head Gold, a very acceptable beer from a bottle. The last one I tried was the Greene King IPA and this also was good from the bottle. I had my first taste of draft GK IPA the previous Friday and I enjoyed it. The bottle did not let the taste down either.
