George Bateman Dies

Sorry to hear that - he was really one of the landmark people in the british brewing industry.

I'm so sad. He was a true gentleman who had time for the most anonymous real ale drinker, and made a point of visiting those who had come to visit his brewery. He leaves a bigger legacy than just his brewery. My condolences to Stuart and Jacquie.

Also Bill Witty from Daleside Brewery who was a CAMRA AGM regular and general nice bloke has died.
