Hand Drawn Monkey, Huddersfield

a new cafe bar in Huddersfield has recently opened. Along with numerous bottles craft beers, there are a couple of handpumps, one seemingly serving a Mallinsons beer. There are also key keg beers, normally from Summer Wine but not exclusively.

Limited food - cheese, parma ham - that sort of thing.

Wood Street - about 5 mins from the railway station.

2nd mention of these .... are they described as such on pump clips or chalk boards?

ie - is it obvious?

Last spring in Holmfirth we stopped at a new place across from the bus shelters, down near Sid's Cafe area. Beer not bad. Prices very good. Just felt more like a night club than a pub. Think it's called Brambles.

It's pretty obvious. They are not hand drawn and the fonts are more like those you'd expect from a 'smooth' beer or a lager.

The owner is a former landlord of the Rat and Ratchet in Huddersfield and is most helpful.

I'm organising a weekend in Huddersfield in Nov for my local CAMRA Branch. Any recommendations other than GBG entries?

Cheers, Brian

Head of Steam and Vulcan spring to mind as worthy of a visit.

Have a look at the local branch website for more info..
