"Heroes" soundalike

Is anyone familiar with the work of Bob Mould - in particular Sugar? The opening few bars of a track called "What You Want It To Be" from "File Under Easy Listening" sound exactly like the beginning of "Heroes" minus the e-bow. Well it does to me!

Why did David put speech marks around the word "Heroes", I wonder?

Not very effectively, though. Many news servers don't honour cancels any more because of widespread, and malicious, abuse.

I know it's off topic, but I'm a big fan of Sugar... Copper Blue is one of my favourite albums .

Just goes to show that all real-ales types don't all get turned on by folk, though I am partial to a bit of Robyn Hitchcock :-)

Thank God not everyone is thinking what a pillock I must be!

Usually, by selecting the offending message and hitting the "delete" key. It is more effective if you do it within minutes, though...

Well - just to pull the thread back, I was on a business trip to the states in 1999 or 2000 and through a bit of creative scheduling, I managed to be in Chicago on the day of the Goose Island Brewery mini beer festival. I wasn't there for the beer (though it wasn't terrible for American stuff in plastic skiffs), but for the very rare appearance of one Bob Mould doing an acoustic set of lots of his solo, Sugar and Husker Du numbers.

I am normally against (loud) music at beer festivals (not wanting to start another long debate about this!!!) but I could certainly make an exception for Bob Mould. Not normally known for "quiet" music an acoustic set by him would be just the ticket!
