You could start with Les Trois Brasseurs, just over the road from Lille-Fla ndres station: . They do a range of their own beers, many brewed on site. May not qu ite meet our definition of real ale but they're certainly interesting.

Most other bars will offer decent bottled beers, some of which are bottle c onditioned. Good draught beer is harder to find and no names leap to mind. On my last trip to Lille, I had rather a jolly night in an unassuming place outside Lille-Flandres station called, somewhat unimaginatively, Le Flandr e (14 rue de Tournai, if Google Street View can be believed). I didn't rate the draught beers much but they had interesting bottles, in an under-the-c ounter kind of way (you had to ask). And a quite superb Carbonnade Flamande by way of food.
