Mail Order Real Ale

Hi,

We are a UK based company specialising in Discworld merchandise.

We have been sending some quality discworld themed real ales to customers around the UK by mail order for about a year now. The beers are themed and based on Discworld characters and places.

It has gone very well - we have found a good shipper and are working to perfect the shipping technology and get the costs down.

I've always been a fan of real ales, but getting involved with the Discworld beers has brought me into contact with many more types and breweries. The difficulty is working off the calories in the gym afterwards :-)

We have expanded the types of bottle conditioned beers in our range as an experiment to see if they too prove popular.

Everyone we have spoken too likes the idea of being able to get hold real british beers via mail order, especially since the breweries tend to only operate in their local area.

We would be very interested to hear from people who have used mail order beer services about their experiences - how was the service, the range, the ordering process? What brought you to the web site? Would you use them again.

How did the product travel? Was there any difference in the quality of the beer?

What size packs worked best for you? singles? 6 packs? pick and mix packs? Larger quantities?

Are there particular beers you would like to see available mail order?

Thanks in advance for your comments. Please either e-mail me at paul snipped-for-privacy@bursarvixen.com or post your views here. We are offering some samples of our products to those who give the most useful comments and feedback.

I received an email on the 9/11/03 from the above company, asking "advise about the best way to introduce this into the news group without getting peoples backs up?"

The charter for uk.food+drink.real-ale states that "Announcements concerning real ale issues are welcomed if they are from non-commercial organisations but blatant off-topic or commercial advertising and job adverts are not permitted"

They obviously chose to send anyway - I guess two days was too long for them to wait for a reply but at least they asked!

I did indeed e-mail Brett and have done so again, explaining that this article was left as a draft but got sent in error.

We weren't advertising our products in the article, we were seeking peoples views on mail order beer suppliers.

We would still welcome peoples ideas as, having been reading the group for a few weeks, I personally see there is a lot of knowledge out there.

Let's start over.

I recently visited the meantime brewery and tried their range of beers (some of which are available in sainsbury's) I enjoyed chocolate the best.

Has anyone come across or tried their raspberry wheat beer?

Could someone explain to me what this phrase means, please ?

It appears to be an incomplete sentence.

Tried it at the brewery tap - a strange colour and a little sweet for my pallate. It had taken away all the flavour of the original 'beer'. It must be what alcopops taste like. Oh, and a little fizzy too.

Recommend you visit the tap when in London, they usually have the entire range on.

It means, could we "wipe the slate clean" and forget past transgressions in the hope for forgiveness and friendship.
