None whatsoever.

Where do these pub rumours come from?

Probably confused about the brewery closing.

Though that was some while ago.

No, but the landlord left to go and run the Sheperds Rest in Sowerby Bridge a few months ago (another Ossett owned pub). Apparently that altered the food available at the Rat.

Other than that, no change.

There seems to be a change of opening times.

Does not open until 3 or 4 o'clock Monday, Tuesday and Wedensday.

Or so I have been told.

AFAIK the Rat has always had rather strange opening hours, as have other Ossett pubs. It almost seems to be some sort of brewery policy although their website gives no info

In the case of the Albert Hotel in Keighley it really was quite absurd that a town centre pub should not be open at midweek lunchtimes. Not surprising that Ossett couldn't make a go of it and it's now reverted to being a rather seedy and undesirable boozer (all young tattooed chavs in Burberry caps and pregnant teenage mothers with half a dozen shaven headed out-of-control kids in tow)
