Salopian Brewery Hop Twister

I'm having a pint of Hop Twister right now, in the Metropolitan Pub at Baker St. It's described as "effervescent sparkle citrus aromatic grapefruit". 4.5%. Can real ales be effervescent? This one is not fizzy at all.

I rate Salopian beers. but Tiny Rebel do some great ones.
