Not the only ones either

Fox and Goose in Hebden Bridge is having one from 23rd to 26th May

So is the Barge and Barrell at Elland

And Halifax CAMRA are having their annual fest at Square Chapel (very close to the Railway Station) on 9th and 10th May.

And last but not least Keighley and Craven Camra are runinng Skipton Beer Festival from on 23rd and 24th May at Skipton Town Hall

A busy time indeed

By the way excellent all day breakfast at the WR refreshment room last Saturday. Definitely doing that again!

Have to admit though I find this May Mild thing rather tedious.

There are some super milds about, with a great variety of characteristics. I sometimes find the endless array of pale, American hopped microbrewery beers rather tedious (though I like them in small doses).

As for the Cellar Bar mini-festival, I don't find this choice tedious, do you?

Acorn - Darkness Old Bear - Born to be Mild Elland -Born to be Mild Wentworth - Gunpark Light Anglo Dutch - Sarah Barnes Stark Raven Wild Church end - Rest in Peace Thornbridge - Jaipur IPA Sarah Hughes - Dark Ruby Mild Fernandes - Pickled Pecker

Looking forward to the weekend,

Paul

Well if thetre that good they dont need to waste a load of time promoting them do they.

If you want a lot of beery stuff I suggest the Fox and Goose one.

Think I'll go the cellar bar and polish off the Jaipur...

Was at the R&R mild festival last year and it was great! Did not need to buy a glass nor pay upfront. Just pay as you go, standard pub prices, for many many great milds. Did not feel the need to stay and imbibe all day; rather, could come and go throughout the day.

Maybe next year we can come again??

I reckon they'd even let you back this year, with good behaviour ;~) (does sound good, but I can't make it) MikeMcG

Dave Kendall-Smith set that up when he was the R&R manager. Now he's working for the brewery itself, but the festival lives on.
