Great Lakes : Burning River Pale Ale

This is probably the most flavorful PA's I've ever had (borders on IPA I would say).

I was pleasantly suprised by this tasty brew...

anyone else try this yet?

There are (at least) two "Great Lakes" breweries, one in Cleveland, and another in Toronto.

Burning River Pale Ale is from the Cleveland brewery. I'd never heard of it, but it certainly has won some awards.

Yup, had it at a local bar in Milw when it was on tap (no longer). Liked it a lot. Similar to Alpha King and Big Sky IPA.

I had the chance to sample it at the Brewtopia beer fest in NYC a few weeks ago. I thought it was quite tasty. Leo

Yes, this one was from Ohio; from the packaging it seems they are very environmentally conscience (which everyone's mission statement, now-a-day's, has it worded as "sustainability").

I go to the pub about once a month when I'm in Cleveland and can get it and many other Great Lakes beers on tap in town. Any of GL's beers are worth trying, but the fav's are Nosferatu, the Edmund Fitzgerald porter and the Christmas Ale, just out.

Burning River is a heavily hopped PA, but if you really want to chew some hops, their Commodore Perry IPA (summer seasonal) is downright bitter. So much so, its probably my least fav of their beers because its a touch out of balance for my taste.
