Is Bridgeport The Same As Portland Brewing?

Seems like the same brands. Black Strap Stout, Haystack Porter etc.

Nope. They're two entirely different companies that just happened to both be located in Portland.

I'm gonna hate myself for this...

No. BridgePort is owned by Gambrinus, and is best-known for their BridgePort IPA, Blue Heron Ale, and Old Knucklehead barleywine. Portland Brewing is now owned by Pyramid (as of August 2004) and brews both ales and lagers.

Dunno why you'd hate yourself for giving a good, accurate answer.

Just exactly so. We won't go into Pyramid's future plans for its Seattle brewery. It's enough to make a grown beer geek cry.

Lew, thanks for answering my question. I know you've been liquored up for quite a while. I see you're into the whiskey now too. So when do you think you'll be able to send me a copy of your latest book? I'll pay you later.

Nice to know some things never change. Latest book comes out in July. I'll send it later.
