Pubs in Dallas

Hi group. A colleague is going to Dallas (Richardson) in July. Can anyone recommend some good pubs?

Cheers, Bruce

Nothing in Richardson!

However definitely check out the Gingerman @ McKinney & Boll. Don't bother going there on a Friday or Saturday night though - too many bellowing yuppies swilling Coors Lite. Stick to the weekday or Sat/Sun afternoons. The Old Monk is awesome for Belgian beers.

If you venture downtown to a little known area near fair park called Exposition park you will find a couple of funky jewels: New Amsterdam Coffee House - pretty good tap selection and really good bottle selelction. The owner recently became a beer judge and he's way into beer. You will find no Bud or Miller on premises. Also the Meridian room has got great food and atmosphere and a decent beer selection - sticks mostly to main stream Belgians like Leffe though, but still not bad.

There is too, the Fox and Hound on Campbell by 75. Lots of good looking single girls and TV's there!
