The reports of Augustiner's demise are greatly exaggerated

A few months back, a poster (can't remember exactly who, and I'm too lazy right now to google it) commented that he thought Augustiner was slipping.

Having just returned from consuming many half-liters of Augustiner over past many days, I'd have to say that whatever may have been the case a few months back, Munich's best brewery is in no danger of losing its title.

It's still deliciously malty and hoppy, with a wonderfully floral nose and that painfully fresh crispness that's always been a hallmark of Augustiner, IMO. In other words, it's the same as it ever was, which is to say pretty damn good.

As were the Schweinehaxe.
