Why Is Rolling Rock A Premium Beer?

You did. I sent you a check.

I keep telling people: Germany now is where we were in the late 1950s. We need to go over there and save what's good before the dickheads in the suits shit all over everything. When beer's selling for 5 Euro a case...bad decisions are being made at every level on the chain.

Really? I thought Strolling Cock was one of them-there Belgium beers, like Stella Artwah.

And you're both much more fun in person. I think the beer has something to do with that.

Well, that, and the funny things we can do with our tattoos.

Because people are willing to pay for it. Marketing has something to do with it, but the real answer is simple...the more sheep that buy it, the more justifiable the price.

------------------------------------------- this really is the answer - Rolling Rock was heavily into "product placement" in 20 something movies of the 90's, and the money was well spent... check out movies like "Reality Bites" and Ethan Hawke is swilling prominently placed Rolling Rock the whole time... I grew up in eastern PA, and you could get Rolling Rock cheap, a 12 pack for $9. When I moved to New Mexico, I could NOT believe the prices they charged for what I consider a decent beer, not that horrible, but certainly not that great, a bartender told me they considered it a "domestic import" whatever the hell that means... Yuengling is better as far as PA beers go, but when I lived in pa and me and all my teenage freinds were buying Busch by the case, Rolling Rock was pretty damned good, in a glass bottle and everything, I hadn't been to Belgium yet, and I still buy some every couple years just for nostalgia.
